A Structured alternative for routines you share
Structured and Ethos both lay your day out as a timeline on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. Ethos is the Structured alternative for a routine that repeats every week and is partly shared: you set each weekday once, keep some routines with your family or friends, and track how settled it all is with Rhythm instead of a streak. Ethos has no account. Structured is the stronger choice for planning each day afresh, with Android, a web app and AI planning. Ethos isn’t connected to Structured or to unorderly GmbH.

Planning the day or keeping the week
Structured’s App Store page describes a visual day planner with a drag-and-drop timeline, an inbox for ideas, sub-tasks with notes, a Pomodoro focus timer, Live Activities and widgets. Recurring tasks and routines, connected calendars and Reminders, AI day planning and Replan, which reschedules missed tasks, are listed under Structured Pro.
Ethos starts from the other end. You set what each weekday asks of you once (the run on Tuesdays, deep work in the mornings, reading before bed), and every day Ethos lays that routine out on Today for you to tick. The routine is free. When the day slips, you push the rest of it back by fifteen or thirty minutes, skip a task, borrow another day’s routine or make the day light. When the day goes wrong covers every option.

Side by side
- Devices. Both have apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and both support iPhone Duo. Structured’s UK App Store page also lists Apple Vision, its website links to Structured Web, and it lists Android with a Google Play link. Ethos is only on Apple devices.
- Accounts and sync. Ethos has no account: with Ethos Plus, your planner syncs through the private part of your own iCloud. Structured’s App Store privacy label lists your email address and other user content under “Data Linked to You”.
- Privacy label. Structured’s label shows no “Data Used to Track You” section, and lists purchases, user content, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics under “Data Not Linked to You”. Ethos has no account, no analytics and no tracking, and its developer never receives your planner.
- Sharing. In Ethos you can make a group, share routines with the people you live or run with, take turns on jobs and keep a shared list. Neither Structured’s App Store page nor its website describes sharing a plan with other people.
- Habits. Ethos measures habits with Rhythm, one number out of a hundred that rises with good days and eases slowly with poor ones, with rest days counted as kept. Structured’s page lists habit tracking alongside the planner.
- Calendars. Both can show your calendar events with your day. In Ethos, turn on “Show calendar events” and it reads them from your device without changing or sending them.
- Focus and AI. Structured has a focus timer and AI planning. Ethos has neither.

Who should stick with Structured
If your days are different every time, Structured’s blank timeline, inbox and AI planning suit that better than a routine set by the week. If you use Android or want to plan in a web browser, Structured covers those and Ethos doesn’t. Ethos needs iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 or later.
Stay with Structured too if a focus timer is part of how you work, or if you plan alone and have no use for groups.
Ethos suits someone whose weeks have a shape that repeats, who keeps part of it with other people, and who wants a habit measure that doesn’t reset. The routine planner page shows how the week works, and the family organiser page covers groups.
Where the Structured facts come from
Checked on 25 October 2026 from Structured’s App Store page and website:
- “Structured: Daily Planner Todo” by unorderly GmbH on the UK App Store, version 4.6.6: its description, its Compatibility section, its events, and its App Privacy label.
- Structured’s own website, structured.app.
Apps change. If something here no longer matches Structured’s own pages, theirs is the one to go by. Everything about Ethos comes from the app itself.
Questions
Is Ethos made by the people who make Structured?
No. Ethos is a separate app from an independent developer in the UK, and it isn’t connected to Structured or to unorderly GmbH.
Does Ethos have a timeline like Structured?
Yes. Today shows your routine in time order and you tick it as you go. The difference is where it comes from: in Ethos you set each weekday once, and the day follows from it.
Can I share my routine with my family?
Yes, with a group. Joining one is free; making a group and inviting people comes with Ethos Plus. A group only shares what you add to it, so the rest of your planner stays yours.
Does Ethos use streaks?
No. Rhythm is a weighted score of every finished day, so a missed day costs a few points rather than resetting anything. A habit tracker without streaks explains how it moves.
