Ethos is a daily routine planner for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. The routine is free; Ethos Plus adds iCloud sync and a few extras. There is no Ethos account, and your planner lives on your own devices and in your own iCloud.

Syncing
How do my devices stay in step? The watch keeps in step with your iPhone on its own, for free. With Ethos Plus, every device signed in to the same Apple Account (iPhone, iPad, Mac and the watch) shares the same week through your own iCloud. There is nothing to pair.
My devices aren't syncing. Check that each one is signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on, and that Ethos Plus shows as on in Settings, Ethos Plus (Restore Purchases there if it doesn't). Settings, Sync shows the state of iCloud and when each device last synced. If iCloud storage is full, changes can't reach your other devices until there is space.
Can you see my planner in iCloud? No. It is kept in the private part of your own iCloud, which only your Apple Account can open.
The devices had different versions of the same days. Ethos merges changes one task and one day at a time, newest first. If two devices recorded the same days differently, it asks you which to keep rather than guess.
Ethos Plus
What does it cost? Ethos Plus is monthly, yearly (the first month free for new subscribers) or a one-off purchase, and the app shows each price in your own currency before you buy. One purchase covers every device on your Apple Account, and your Family Sharing group.
What happens if I stop? Sync pauses and the extra accents and the printed month lock again. Nothing you made is deleted, here or in iCloud, and buying Plus again picks up where it left off.
How do I cancel or get a refund? Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings. Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Backups
Does Ethos back up my planner? Once a week it saves a backup to Files, On My iPhone, Ethos, Backups, and keeps the last eight. On the Mac, Settings, Data, Show in Finder opens the folder. You can also back up by hand from the same place.
How do I restore? Settings, Data, Restore from a backup, then choose a backup file. Restoring replaces what is on this device, and on the devices it syncs with.
I got a new phone. With Ethos Plus, sign in to the same Apple Account and your week comes across through iCloud. Without it, restore the latest backup on the new phone.
Reminders
Reminders stopped. Check that notifications are allowed for Ethos in Settings. Ethos plans reminders about a week ahead and tops them up in the background; opening the app once also tops them up.
I do not want a reminder for one task. Open the task in the week editor and turn off "Remind me".
Reminders on the watch without my phone. The watch schedules its own reminders for the next two days, so they arrive even when the phone is elsewhere.
Rest days, days off and bad days
Rest days (Settings, The week) and days off (the day's menu, or Settings) count as kept. On a hard day, "Make today light" counts only your anchor tasks; mark a task as an anchor in its editor.
Your data
Your planner is on your devices and, with Ethos Plus, in your own iCloud. We cannot see it or recover it. To remove it, clear history in Settings, Data; remove the iCloud copy in Settings, Sync; or delete the app from each device. The privacy policy is at ethosplanner.app/privacy.
